Your Treatment Timeline

So, what's next? While the experience is unique for every patient, here's what you can expect…

IMMEDIATELY AFTER

Potential swelling, itching, cramping, redness, numbness, or mild discomfort (normal!).
Fat reduction will not be visible just yet.

1-4 WEEKS AFTER

Side effects subside and skin appears as it did before treatment.
Treated fat cells begin to be metabolized and removed from the body.

1-3 MONTHS AFTER

You may begin to notice fat reduction in the treated area as fat cells continue to be processed.
You're eligible to undergo another round of CoolSculpting in the same treatment area.

3 MONTHS AFTER

Maximum fat reduction results in the treatment area are achieved.
While some patients may be satisfied with the results of a single treatment, most require multiple rounds. We recommend repeating this treatment every couple of months until your body sculpting goals are achieved.

WITH EACH SUBSEQUENT TREATMENT

Up to 25% of fat cells are permanently removed with each additional applicator.
Additional targeted reduction of stubborn fat bulges is achieved.
Treated areas continue to reduce, helping you reach your body contouring goals.

What To Do If You Experience These Common Side Effects…

FOR DISCOMFORT OR SWELLING

You may experience a dull ache, an occasional "zinger" (nerve discomfort), cramping, tingling, numbness, swelling or bloating in the treated area following your treatment, which can last up to four weeks.
Gently massage the area with Vaseline® or Aquaphor®.
Take over-the-counter ibuprofen as needed.
Starting one day after your treatment, apply ice packs or heating pads with barriers to the treated area, taking them on and off every three to five minutes for one to two hours.
Wear compression garments or comfortable clothing.

FOR BRUISING

Small bruises can occur due to the strong suction on the applicators, and they usually resolve within three to seven days.
Continue to avoid alcohol until resolved, and you can gently apply makeup over them if desired.

FOR ITCHING

Itchiness can occur when skin is cleansed with alcohol prep pads.
Take oral liquid Benadryl®, Allegra® or Claritin® (antihistamines available over-the-counter) as needed.
Apply hydrocortisone 1%, and Vaseline® or Aquaphor® to the affected area up to three times per day until it resolves.
